The RAF Air Cadets are Coming to CBBC

15 Mar 2017

The RAF Air Cadets are to feature on the BAFTA winning CBBC series My Life.

The episode, titled ‘Learning to Fly’, will focus on Cadet Lottie Owens of 141 (Boston) Squadron and Kallen Charles of 56 (Woolwich) Squadron following the RAF Air Cadet syllabus and taking controls of an aircraft for the very first time.

During the 30-minute programme viewers will see the cadets take part in a wide range of activities including a band competition, practising drill sequences, testing out a flight simulator and even chatting to Red 10 of the Red Arrows.

We will also hear from Lottie and Kallen’s families about how the RAF Air Cadets has been a positive influence on their children’s lives.

A shorter film following Cadet Gabriel Pang will also appear on the CBBC website after the TV episode showing Gabriel’s first parade as part of his squadron band.

My Life follows the lives of children which have incredible stories to tell, with previous episodes following Syrian refugees, transgender teens and families living in extraordinary locations.

A short promo for the episode can be seen on the CBBC website here.

My Life – Learning to Fly will be shown on CBBC Chanel on Monday 20th March at 17:30.
